To All Sailing Members

No doubt the sailors amongst us must have had a great season last year with plenty of wind for some brisk sailing. For those that sail independently, have you ever wondered what it might be like if you were part of organised cruises in company with other sailboats from Cobb’s Quay?

Well this has been our vision and hope at least, but over the past years whilst the power side of Cobb’s Quay Berth Holders Association has thrived, the enthusiasm has not been so evident among the sailors and their families at our Marina.

Our Dream, CQBHA Yacht Cruising in Company

But things could start to move with a handful of experienced sailors already expressing interest in helping to establish a sailing section within the Berth Holders Association, we already have one or two enthusiasts onboard and we would like to invite all our sailing members to join in so it can be used and enjoyed by all our dedicated and dependable sailors. This can be helped and underpinned with the knowledge, organisational advice and help from the Association’s substantial cruising destination knowledge that’s been built up over the last few years of cruising along the South Coast, across to the Channel Islands and the North Coast of France.

Of course, there is a world of difference and ideas between yachting and power boating, but there is still a great deal of commonality in the planning, organisation, and destinations that exist.
Albeit it at a more sedate pace !

At the end of the day I guess we all share the same passion for being on the water and a glass of wine at the end of a safe passage, in the company of others, providing a great sense of achievement is what we all love.

In the short term we anticipate seeking guidance on what objectives and destinations sailing members would like to aim for and with a steady increase in sailing membership, put it all into place for seasons to come. Whether we plan to cruise together with the power boats with the yachting side planning there own passage, or we plan seperate cruises to suit yachts on there own, we would love to embrace the yachting members and their thoughts, skills and knowledge.

Have Fun with Other Members of our Sailing Community

If you would like to come on board, I would love to help you all get this side of CQBHA moving. Please initially email your interest to me, I look forward to hearing from you.
